​GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance super app, and its global payment partner, Alipay+ are elevating the food ordering experience in the country with the new “Scan-to-Order” feature.

With the help of its tech-enabled solutions, PLDT and its wireless division Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have helped 14,442 farmers, fishers, cooperatives, and micro, small, and medium-sized companies (MSMEs) go digital this year—a 40% increase from 2022.

​Because local authorities anticipate an increase in online scams during the holidays, PLDT and its wireless business Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) encourage the public to carefully look through their emails or messages before responding or clicking attached links. According to the Cyber Security Operations Group (CSOG) of PLDT and Smart, cybercriminals are not only becoming more adept at imitating authentic emails, but they are also utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the credibility of their communications.

Google announced on May 16, 2023, that when partners use Google AdSense, Ad Manager, or AdMob, they must use a certified CMP that integrates with the Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) with IAB Europe in order to serve ads to users in the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA). A list of certified CMPs is available to publishers and developers through their respective help centers (Ad Manager, AdMob, and AdSense).

In a PSE Disclosure dated December 18, 2023, Globe Telecom, a leading digital platform in the Philippines with major interests in telecommunications, financial technology, virtual healthcare, digital marketing solutions, data insights, corporate venture building, and climate technology, announced the third closing of another 79 towers sold to Unity Digital Infrastructure (Unity) for a cash consideration of ~₱948 million. This transaction is the last closing for the year 2023 and marks the third tranche of the 447 sale-and-leaseback deal with Unity with the transfer of ownership and management rights of 249 towers, or around 56% of the sold towers.

Using its Stop Spam reporting portal, leading digital solutions platform Globe Telecom blocked another record-high number of SIMs connected to fraud in the first nine months of the year. Globe Telecom saw a sharp increase in the number of SIMs from other networks being used for scam and spam operations.
