Globe Telecom Adds 716 New Sites to Expand 5G Network Coverage

​In the first nine months of the year, Globe Telecom connected 716 additional sites, demonstrating substantial progress in growing its 5G network. As a result, its 5G outdoor coverage increased to 92.06% in important Visayas and Mindanao cities and 97.67% in the National Capital Region.

The 5.2 million 5G devices that linked to Globe in September 2023, indicating rising adoption among Filipinos, highlight the network's rapid expansion.

With the growth of agreements with 156 carriers in 82 destinations, Globe's 5G influence is growing internationally. This allows users to experience high-speed 5G services abroad and establishes the Philippines as a prominent player in the 5G arena.

Countries including Guatemala, South Africa, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Laos, the Seychelles, India, Peru, the Aland Islands, Crete, Croatia, and Romania are already covered by Globe's 5G roaming service. In addition, foreign roamers traveling to the Philippines can benefit from the company's enhanced 5G network.

For the first nine months of the year, Globe spent ₱54 billion on capital expenditures (CAPEX), with 91% of that amount going toward enhancing data services. This is consistent with the company's efforts to increase digital enablement among Filipinos, since connectivity is now essential for meeting daily demands in a variety of fields, including business, education, healthcare, and financial services.
