In a PSE Disclosure dated January 11, 2024, the property giant Megaworld, the country’s largest developer and operator of homegrown Filipino hotel brands, is building its second hotel development inside its 462-hectare Paragua Coastown ecotourism township in San Vicente, Palawan. The 10-story Paragua Sands Hotel has 313 guest rooms and suites in various layouts, suitable for visitors and travelers visiting the scenic town of San Vicente. Room types and sizes include Twin Suite (up to 32 square meters), Queen Suite (32.5 square meters), Junior Suite (up to 61 square meters), Executive Suite (60.5 square meters), and Presidential Suite (140 square meters). There will also be separate Specially-Abled Suites (up to 34 square meters) for guests who require special accommodations throughout their stay. These rooms will have various views of the neighboring mountains and Pagdanan Bay.
“We are very excited to introduce our 20th hotel property in our portfolio, and what better destination to host it than in San Vicente, Palawan, which is home to the longest beachline in the country and the second longest in the entire Southeast Asia,” says Cleofe Albiso, managing director, Megaworld Hotels and Resorts. The Paragua Sands Hotel will be just a five-minute walk from both the beach and the mangrove reserve area, which will be part of the huge metropolis. It will be directly adjacent to the Savoy Hotel Palawan and Oceanfront Premier Residences, the township's first hotel and residential condominium buildings, and will be flanked by lots from the surrounding Mercato Shophouse District. The hotel's façade will have gradient-colored balconies and walls with art murals inspired by modern contemporary art, further distinguishing Paragua Sands Hotel from other nearby buildings. The magnificent hotel lobby features décor with earth tones and natural accents inspired by the lush surroundings of Paragua Coastown. The colors on the floor will represent some of the most exquisite shades of the fine sands on the beach, which San Vicente is well-known for. Local materials, such as solihiya and rattan, will be combined with modern expressions to create furniture, ornamental lights, and screens for the interiors. The Paragua Sands Hotel will have a number of unique services and amenities positioned in the central amenity area on the second and third levels. It has its own swimming pool and kiddie pool, a pool deck with dining area, an outdoor deck and balconies, a children's club, a spa with treatment rooms, a fitness center with a yoga area, and male and female changing rooms with wet and dry sauna. The hotel will offer a ballroom for up to 220 guests, 80 event rooms, and 66 conference rooms. There will also be a business center with four (4) workstations for individuals who wish to complete some work during their stay. The Paragua Sands Hotel will also have four (4) food and beverage outlets: an all-day dining restaurant with both alfresco and private dining sections, Zabana Bar & Lounge, a pool bar and grill with outdoor seating, and a specialty restaurant. There will also be a gift shop and various retail spaces on the ground floor. Suite and VIP visitors get exclusive access to the Executive Lounge, where they can enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres throughout the day, including breakfast. Megaworld Hotels & Resorts will manage and operate the Paragua Sands Hotel, set to open in 2029. Megaworld Hotels and Resorts, the country's largest operator of homegrown hotel brands, will debut its 20th hotel property. Out of the 20 hotel properties launched, 12 are operational with approximately 5,000 hotel room keys: Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, Savoy Hotel Newport, Savoy Hotel Boracay, Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown, Belmont Hotel Manila, Belmont Hotel Boracay, Belmont Hotel Mactan, Kingsford Hotel Manila, Twin Lakes Hotel in Laurel, Batangas, near Tagaytay, and Hotel Lucky Chinatown in Binondo, Manila.
