Globe Telecom Expands its Network and Strengthens Connectivity Throughout the Philippines

​In the first nine months of the year, Globe Telecom upgraded 5,395 mobile sites to LTE and built 833 new cell sites, further improving the nation's digital infrastructure. The goal of this development is to provide nationwide coverage and dependable connectivity.

The company has made significant strides in expanding its network, which has been essential in offering a better customer experience and giving many Filipinos access to high-speed internet. According to Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence® statistics, the company's commitment to service improvement has earned it the renowned title of "Most Consistent Fixed Broadband Provider" in 33 towns and cities and two provinces for the third quarter of 2023. Globe received this recognition following its excellent performance in the preceding quarter, during which it led in 31 locations.

Furthermore, Globe Telecom has documented significant improvements in upload and download speeds on 19 key sites during the third quarter of this year. “As we strengthen our infrastructure with new cell sites and LTE upgrades, we're helping accelerate digitalization. Globe Telecom is making the most of its current fiber inventory, which is consistent with the lower capital expenditure (CAPEX) this year. This aligns with Globe's dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, namely SDG No. 9, which promotes innovation and infrastructure as catalysts for equitable economic growth.

​As of September 2023, the digital solutions platform had invested ₱54 billion in capital expenditures (CAPEX), of which 91% was earmarked for data needs, guaranteeing consumers' uninterrupted access to world-class digital solutions and connectivity.
