EEI Power Corporation (EEIPC), EEI Corporation's power subsidiary, recently signed a contract to build a 145.2kWp Solar PV rooftop system for Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital (DDVMH) in Mayombo District, Dagupan City. The solar rooftop system, which includes 264 units of 550 watt-peak monocrystalline photovoltaic solar panels, is expected to generate an average annual energy output of 183,680 kWh. Furthermore, it is expected to reduce carbon emissions by around 128 metric tons per year, equivalent to growing 2,150 trees. Over its 25-year lifespan, the PV system is expected to save DDVMH up to PHP 20 million on electricity costs.
The signing event was attended by prominent representatives from Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital and EEI Power Corporation, demonstrating their shared belief in a sustainable energy future as a crucial component of the worldwide effort to combat climate change. During the contract signing ceremony, Dr. Vivencio Jose P. Villaflor III, Hospital and Medical Director of DDVMH, emphasized the hospital's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development through the use of clean energy sources, such as the solar rooftop system they are installing on its facility as part of their partnership with EEI Power. Meanwhile, according to EEI Power’s General Manager Salvador M. Salire, Jr., “It is our privilege to have been given the opportunity to partner with a well-respected healthcare institution like Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital for this environment-friendly initiative which aligns with our dedication in providing accessible and cost-effective solutions.” DDVMH, part of the Mount Grace Hospitals, Inc. network, is a private 100-bed tertiary hospital in Dagupan City that spans two hectares. It has around 150 highly qualified medical consultants and paramedical professionals. Recognized for its commitment to the most recent healthcare standards, the hospital is known for providing professional and customized patient care on par with the region's best institutions. Beyond solar solutions, EEI Power offers a wide range of power-related products and services, such as high, medium, and low voltage equipment, as well as preventive maintenance, upgrades, and power quality assessments. EEI Power is an electro-mechanical contractor accredited by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board and an Energy Service Company (ESCO) registered with the Department of Energy.
