EEI Corporation, a renowned construction corporation in the Philippines, supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 projects, which are projected to offer opportunities for Filipinos. Vision 2030 is Saudi Arabia's master plan to modernize and diversify its economy by moving away from its reliance on oil and toward other potential development industries. By 2030, Saudi Arabia hopes to fulfill three major goals: transition away from economic dependency on oil, improve the lives of its citizens, and maintain its position on the global stage.
EEI is interested in contributing to the growth of civil, infrastructure, oil, and gas businesses and job opportunities for Filipinos in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. “EEI would like to be present and help in the Vision 2030 endeavors of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi is projected to make heavy investments towards construction projects like water systems, treatment facilities, roads, bridges and livable spaces to accommodate the growing needs of its population and the demands of its vibrant economy. Saudi is also beefing up its transportation sector and we are optimistic that EEI will be able to contribute to the infrastructure development of the Kingdom. EEI’s vast experience and reliability in projects with our international partners is further evidence of our excellence and readiness to undertake massive projects here and abroad,” EEI Corporation President and CEO Henry D. Antonio says. “While it is exciting for EEI to seek and work on prospects for various projects under Saudi’s Vision 2030 plans, one of the most fulfilling tasks we have at the company is in providing overseas work opportunities for Filipinos. The multiplier effect of Saudi’s grand plan can also mean a great demand for Filipino workforce that would ultimately benefit their families and loved ones,” Antonio continues. In the fourth quarter of 2023, EEI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Samsung Engineering NEC Co. Ltd. (SENEC) in Saudi Arabia to collaborate and work on projects in the country while also expanding overseas job prospects for Filipinos. Under the terms of the MOU, EEI and SENEC agree to collaborate and mutually explore options to help Saudi Arabia achieve its development goals, including giving support to the Kingdom through Filipino workforce mobilization. Both companies value the competence, tenacity, adaptability, and perseverance of Filipino overseas workers. Labor skills in masonry, carpentry, electrical, welding, equipment management, warehousing, steel fabrication, and other construction-related trades are expected to meet labor requirements for EEI's different projects both in the Philippines and abroad. EEI has operated in Saudi Arabia since 1993 through Al Rushaid Construction Company Limited (ARCC), a joint venture between Al Rushaid Petroleum Investment Corporation and EEI Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EEI. ARCC specializes in general construction and has worked on a number of large projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including refineries and petrochemical plants, power and desalination plants, mining, and industrial buildings. ARCC, one of Saudi Arabia's largest Saudi-Filipino joint companies, has played a key role in providing Filipinos with numerous work possibilities abroad during the previous thirty years. As of the end of 2023, ARCC employs 4,592 Filipinos out of a staff of 7,224, with plans to add more given the new and future opportunities outlined in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 grand plan.
