ChatGPT can now Speak, See, and Hear--OpenAI
A significant update to OpenAI's ChatGPT will make it possible for the popular chatbot to communicate with users via speech and visuals, bringing it closer to other well-known artificial intelligence assistants like Apple's Siri.
OpenAI declared on September 25, 2023, that they would be introducing additional voice and visual features to ChatGPT. They provide a brand-new, easier-to-use interface by letting you speak to ChatGPT or display what you're discussing.

Now available to Plus customers on iOS and Android is Voice (Beta)

Now, you may converse back and forth with your helper using voice. Request a bedtime story, end a dinner table argument, or speak with it while you're on the road.

To begin using voice, open the mobile app's Settings New Features page and select Voice Conversations. Select your chosen voice from a selection of five voices by tapping the headphone button in the top-right corner of the home screen.

Users of Plus will have universal access to image input across all platforms.

You can now display one or more photos in ChatGPT. Investigate the cause of your grill's failure to ignite, look through your fridge to make a meal plan, or examine a challenging graph to find information relevant to your job. Using the sketching tool in the mobile app, you can concentrate on a particular region of the image.

Start by using the photo button to take or select an image. You can instruct your assistance by using the drawing tool, talking about numerous images, or both.

On September 11, 2023, OpenAI also announced that ChatGPT supports more languages:

  • Chinese (zh-Hans)
  • Chinese (zh-TW)
  • French (fr-FR)
  • German (de-DE)
  • Italian (it-IT)
  • Japanese (ja-JP)
  • Portuguese (pt-BR)
  • Russian (ru-RU)
  • Spanish (es-ES)

If you've set up your browser to use one of these supported languages, you should see a banner in ChatGPT that allows you to change your language preferences, according to OpenAI. Through the options menu, you can deactivate this option whenever you want.

Note: At the moment, this functionality can only be utilized online at chat.openai.com and is under alpha testing.
