BDO Unibank, Inc. Raises PHP63.3B in the 2nd ASEAN Sustainability Bond Issuance

BDO Unibank, Inc. stated that its second ASEAN Sustainability Bond issue raised PHP63.3 billion, surpassing the previous offer of PHP5 billion by more than twelve times.

The offering was supported by robust demand from individual and institutional investors, with a rapid build-up of orders culminating in a week-long offer period that ended on January 16, 2024.

This is the Bank's largest single issuance, exceeding PHP52.7 billion from its inaugural ASEAN Sustainability Bonds issue in January 2022.

The peso-denominated Sustainability bonds have a coupon rate of 6.025% and are due in 1.5 years. The issue, settlement, and listing date is January 29, 2024.

According to the bank, the net proceeds from the offering will be used to diversify the bank's funding sources and finance and refinance eligible assets, as stated in the bank's Sustainable Finance Framework.

The issuance was arranged solely by Standard Chartered Bank, with BDO Unibank, Inc. and Standard Chartered Bank acting as selling agents and BDO Capital & Investment Corporation as financial advisors.
