TIME Magazine, Statista Names Three SM Companies Among the World's Best Companies

TIME Magazine and Statista have named SM Investments Corporation, SM Prime Holdings, and China Banking Corporation among the World's Best Companies for 2024. This award recognizes the group's dedication and outstanding performance in employee happiness, revenue development, and sustainability.

SM continues to fuel socioeconomic growth, having produced over 131,000 employment and assisted more than 100,000 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) so far.

In addition, the corporation takes proactive steps to manage its environmental impact. In 2023, Philippine Geothermal Production Company, a wholly owned company, generated 2,604.4 gigawatt-hours (GWh). SM has also planted 2.65 million trees and seedlings, conserved 24 hectares of mangroves, and installed solar panels totaling 23.3 megawatts peak (MWp) across its malls.

​The "World's Best Companies 2024" list is the product of extensive research to identify the world's best-performing companies. The survey assesses organizations on three key dimensions: employee satisfaction, revenue growth, and sustainability.

Employee satisfaction was measured using surveys performed in more than 50 countries, including data from approximately 170,000 participants. Revenue growth was estimated for enterprises with revenues of at least $100 million in 2023, indicating a favorable trend from 2021 to 2023. Sustainability assessments were based on Statista's ESG Database and targeted research.
