Robinsons Retail's food section launched its fifth distribution center in Calamba, Laguna, on October 7, 2024. The sector is comprised of five banners: Robinsons Supermarket, The Marketplace, Shopwise, Robinsons Easymart, and Uncle John's. With approximately 40,000 square meters of space and the ability to accommodate nearly 30,000 pallet positions, the new Calamba facility provides improved inventory management and optimized logistics, resulting in even more efficient replenishment and stable stock levels for our stores.
“By continuously enhancing operational efficiency, we’re ensuring that as we expand, our service levels remain high and our shoppers are able to buy what they need when they need it. This facility supports our long-term vision of building a robust and reliable supply chain that can grow with the demands of our regional markets,” said Big Formats Managing Director Christine O. Tueres. Robinsons Retails Holdings Inc. was founded by the late entrepreneur John Gokongwei Jr. back in 1980. What started as a small department store in Robinsons Place Manila, now stands as one of the largest multi-format retailers in the country. As of June 30, 2024, Robinsons Retail operated a total of 2,401 stores consisting of 755 food stores, 1,082 drugstores, 49 department stores, 224 DIY stores, and 291 specialty stores. It also has over 2,100 franchised stores of TGP.
