Repower Energy Development Corporation (PSE: REDC), the hydropower arm of Pure Energy Holdings Corporation, is celebrating a record first half of 2025. Clean energy generation jumped 29% to 59.77 million kWh (from 46.32 million kWh in H1 2024), lifting revenues by 28% to P359.61 million (from P281.35 million), with net income soaring 58% to P152.20 million (from P96.58 million). The upswing came from producing more, more reliably. Expenses remained steady: both cost of electricity sales and operating overhead were kept in check through tighter plant operations, high availability, proactive maintenance, and procurement efficiencies. Favorable hydro conditions and minimal natural disasters also contributed to the company's strong H1 performance.
The company strengthened their operational gains in its second year of being a publicly listed firm, and remains on track for its targeted Q3 2025 commissioning of its Cabanglasan Hydropower Plant in Bukidnon. This is expected to more than double the company's generation capacity, and further boost revenues. "2025 is shaping up to be a banner and transformative year for REDC, proving that efficient operations and dependable hydro resources can power both the community and the company's strong financial results" said President & CEO Eric Y. Roxas. |
