First Gen Corporation (First Gen), the leading provider of renewable energy (RE) in the country, was tapped anew by industrial printing firm Precision Crestec, Inc. for supply of 700 kilowatts of electricity from an RE source to power the printing company’s production facility in Pasig City. Precision Crestec Inc. and First Gen officials signed a new supply agreement late last month, reaffirming their partnership that started in 2021 as part of Precision Crestec, Inc.’s program to meet increasing demand of its customers for more sustainable supply chains and products. .
“Founded in 1962, Precision Crestec, Inc. is one of the leading providers of high-quality packaging solutions, serving industries such as food and beverage, electronics, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and retail for both local and Philippine-based export companies. With an innovative approach, we deliver durable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly packaging designed to enhance product safety and brand visibility while maintaining the lowest possible carbon footprint”, said Precision Crestec, Inc. President Purificacion Dizon. Aside from supplying power, First Gen with its sister company Pi Energy Inc. provides Precision Crestec, Inc. with energy efficiency solutions designed for efficient use of electricity. These solutions include remote energy monitoring system for analyzing and checking Precision Crestec’s real-time power consumption. “Our partnership with industrial firms such as Precision Crestec, Inc. enables them to make sense of their power utilization and make more informed decisions on how to save on electricity costs. Plus, they are able to reduce the carbon footprint in their production through the use of RE,” said Carlo Lorenzo Vega, First Gen vice president and chief customer engagement officer. First Gen has 1,651 megawatts (MW) of installed RE capacity from 28 solar, wind, hydro and geothermal power plants. First Gen also has another 2,017 MW of capacity from four other power plants that run on natural gas, a bridge fuel that offers flexible power generation and supports the introduction of more intermittent RE in the country. The 3,668-MW combined capacity of First Gen’s RE and natural gas power plants helps assure the country’s energy security.
