PLDT, Smart Communications Launch More Sites in Mandaue City, Helping Local Microbusinesses

​PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and its wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are expanding their network infrastructure in Mandaue City, one of Cebu's most densely populated cities, redefining the landscape for microentrepreneurs and opening up opportunities for growth across industries.

Mandaue City, with a population of over 360,000, is the region's industrial core, home to around 10,000 industrial and commercial locators, making connection critical for both businesses and residents.

Smart continues to expand its network throughout the Philippines, especially in Cebu. To date, Smart's combined 5G/4G network serves approximately 97% of the population.

The PLDT Group's investments in network infrastructure, innovative products, and services are consistent with its commitment to democratizing access to cutting-edge technology and improving customer experience across the country.

These activities also help the PLDT Group achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9—Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure—and strengthen the Group's support for the government's broader digitalization push.
