Beginning March 30, 2025, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) will operate thrice-weekly nonstop flights to Beijing Capital International Airport. “We are honored to serve the capital city of the People’s Republic of China, the diplomatic heart of the world’s second largest economy, as our contribution to strengthening air links to the Chinese mainland,” said PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng. “We believe that the Manila-Beijing service will help boost tourism, enhance trade and deepen the friendly ties between the Filipino and Chinese people.”
The Philippine flag carrier currently has the most extensive network of flights from the Philippines to four cities in mainland China. In addition to Beijing, PAL operates daily flights from Manila to Shanghai (Pudong), Xiamen, and Quanzhou (Jinjiang). For the nonstop flights between Manila and Beijing, PAL will use Airbus A321 aircraft with a capacity of 168 to 199 passengers. Beijing is the world's eighth largest city and home to world-renowned historical sites such as the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, and the Temple of Heaven, which attract millions of visitors from all over the world. Tianjin, an industrial seaport city, is less than an hour's high-speed train trip from Beijing. Travelers from Beijing may connect via Manila to PAL's vast domestic and regional route network, allowing them to travel to popular Philippine destinations such as Cebu, Davao, Boracay, and Palawan, as well as PAL destinations in Southeast Asia, Australia, and North America.
