Non-Life insurance industry’s net premiums written increases by 20.48% to P39.63 billion in H1 20259/5/2025 Total net premiums written by non-life insurance companies amounted to P39.63 billion during the first half of 2025. This is a 20.48% increase from figures during the same period last year. Along with the increase in total net premiums written, total claims paid out by non-life insurance companies also increased by 32.67% during the first half, amounting to P15.69 billion. The following table shows the first half figures on premium collection, claims pay-out and net income of the non-life insurance industry: “The non-life insurance sector’s total Net Premiums Written (NPW) posted a year-on year increase of 20.48%, rising from P32.89 billion as of Q2 2024 to P39.63 billion as of Q2 2025. As in previous reporting periods, the Motor Car business remained the leading contributor, accounting for 40.52% of total NPW. It registered a 16.20% increase, equivalent to P2.24 billion, growing from P13.82 billion to P16.06 billion,” the Insurance Commission (IC) said.
