Open innovation is key to building technologies that benefit everyone. Llama 3.1, Meta's open-source large language model, is now available, providing people with access to new and improved AI capabilities.
According to Meta, they just released their most intelligent Llama models yet, including the largest and most capable open-source model ever released. Additionally, this open access creates opportunities across education, healthcare, and business.
This new version has multilingual support with eight languages, increased conversational abilities, excellent reasoning skills, additional resources for responsible AI, and much more. The Llama 3.1 405B is in a class of its own, with unmatched flexibility, control, and state-of-the-art capabilities that rival the best closed-source models. The new model will enable the community to unlock new workflows, such as synthetic data generation and model distillation. As of today, Meta has over 25 partners rolling out Llam 3.1, including AWS, Nvidia, Databricks, Groq, Dell, Azure, and Google Cloud. Here's what Mark Zuckerberg posted detailing why open source is good for developers, good for Meta, and good for the world.
