Property giant Megaworld is further expanding its office portfolio by rolling out a new office leasing group to further cement its status as the Philippines’ biggest office developer and lessor and achieve its target of having 2 million square meters of leasable office space in its portfolio. The new group, which will be called Megaworld Global Offices, will collaborate with the company’s existing office leasing group, Megaworld Premier Offices, to accelerate the growth of the company’s office portfolio, particularly in key growth areas across the country like Ilocos Region, Pampanga, Cavite, Bacolod, and Cagayan de Oro.
The company is also looking into attracting more Fortune 500 multinational companies, including startup companies, to be part of its growing portfolio that now reached almost 200 companies. These companies are mostly located in key townships that turned into some of the country’s biggest cyberparks such as Eastwood City, Uptown Bonifacio, McKinley Hill, McKinley West, and Iloilo Business Park. “We continue to see strong demand for office spaces in the country, even with the rapid emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and other new technologies. These digital advancements continue to fuel substantial growth among many industries and create significant opportunities for finance, IT, and healthcare professionals,” says Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso, President and CEO, Megaworld. Megaworld Global Offices will be led by Francisco Roxas, an industry veteran whose career spans over 30 years of experience in real estate development and property management, about half of it in executive leadership roles. An alumnus of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Roxas combines academic excellence with a wealth of hands-on executive experience. Already the country’s largest office developer, Megaworld today boasts over 1.6 million square meters across almost 90 towers nationwide—the biggest footprint in the market. These office developments serve as thriving hubs for more than 200,000 employees, primarily from the BPO and corporate sectors. Megaworld townships have become the preferred address of some of the world’s most respected corporations, including Fortune 500 companies such as Google, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo, IBM, and Accenture, among others. The company cemented its industry leadership when it made history with the country’s largest single office lease transaction—developing the Philippine global service center of JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Uptown Bonifacio. Today, JPMorgan Chase operates out of two LEED-certified office towers built by Megaworld, spanning a combined 150,000 square meters. These landmark developments form part of Megaworld’s growing portfolio of over 32 green, LEED-certified and registered office buildings nationwide. |
