Contecon Guayaquil S.A. (CGSA), the Ecuadorian business unit of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), received the inaugural call of Kota Eagle, Pacific International Lines' (PIL) largest and most advanced container ship. This is a big development for Ecuador's foreign trade, confirming Guayaquil as a vital port on global shipping routes. The Kota Eagle has minimal environmental impact technology and runs fully on liquefied natural gas (LNG), one of the cleanest fuels on the earth. The technology demonstrates PIL's dedication to decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. The vessel is 335 meters long and has a capacity of 14,000 TEUs, making it an excellent example of sustainable maritime innovation.
“We are proud to welcome the Kota Eagle to our terminal. This event reflects the confidence of important shipping companies such as PIL in our operational capacity, consolidating Guayaquil as an essential port for the growth of their business in the country,” said Javier Lancha, CGSA chief executive officer. “We ratify our commitment to innovation and sustainability, ensuring that our operation consistently meets the highest quality standards and contributes to the development of Ecuador’s foreign trade,” he added. Contecon Guayaquil is working to improve its logistical practices, confirming its commitment to becoming a key partner in Ecuador's economic growth and foreign trade promotion. Contecon Guayaquil stays steadfast in its commitment to improving Ecuador's global connectivity by providing robust logistics solutions to its partners and consumers.
