The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Seawater Desalination Plant Project in Lapu-Lapu City, led by Summa Water Resources, Inc. (SWRI) through its subsidiary CSWater Lapu-Lapu, Inc. (CSWLL), took place today, September 18, 2024. This event represents a pivotal milestone in our collective pursuit of sustainable water management solutions and marks the commencement of efforts to ensure a reliable water supply for the city of Lapu-Lapu. This project is a vital response to the city's growing water needs. The initial phase involves the construction of a 15 MLD (Million Liters per Day) desalination plant in Punta Engaño and a 500 CMD (Cubic Meters per Day) desalination facility on Olango Island. The project is being developed under a Joint Venture Agreement for Bulk Water Supply, signed between the City of Lapu-Lapu and CSWLL/SWRI on June 21, 2019. The official Notice to Proceed was issued by Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan on May 13, 2024, marking the formal commencement of this transformative project.
CSWater Lapu-Lapu, Inc. (CSWLL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Summa Water Resources, Inc., which is 60% owned by MacroAsia Corporation through its wholly-owned subsidiary Allied Water Services, Inc.
