Google announced that it will implement a few policy changes to improve clarity and transparency for its publishing partners. Google will replace the "Ads on Dynamic Content" policy for its AdMob and AdSense programs with a new "Ads in Private Communications" policy. This update will provide clarity to publishers by stating that advertising is not permitted on screens where the primary focus is on private conversation, such as direct messaging, live chats, video chats, and private chat rooms. According to the Google Ad Manager Partner Guidelines, these restrictions apply to Google Ad Manager partners who display Google advertising on their websites and apps in the open auction.
In addition, Google will remove the "Personalized Advertising" Policy from the AdMob Behavioral Policies and replace it with a new "Personalized Advertising" Google Publisher Policy. To protect user privacy and prevent discriminatory practices, all publishers must follow the rules about personalized ads serving. This policy has been created as a Publisher Policy to provide a consistent policy experience for all publishers. According to Google, this announcement is a notification informing publishers of the aforementioned policy adjustments; no action is required at this time.
