 In March 2025, Google will update the Google Publisher Restriction for Online Gambling such that the restriction will apply when online gambling content is shown to users located outside of the allowed countries. As per Google, the allowed countries are Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States.
Online gambling is content that: Users can participate in online, real-money gambling or any internet-based game in which money or other valuable items are paid or gambled in return for the chance to win real money or rewards dependent on the outcome of the game. Examples: Online casinos or bookmakers, online lottery ticket or scratch card purchase, online sports betting, aggregator or affiliate sites that promote online gambling pages According to Google AdSense, this notification is to inform its publisher about the aforementioned policy updates. No action is needed from the publisher's end at this time. This update is intended to guarantee that online gambling content is only available to users in countries where it is legally authorized. |
