Globe Telecom has successfully obtained a new certification for ISO 22301:2019, the international standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS), demonstrating its proactive approach to protecting vital operations and maintaining uninterrupted service delivery during times of crisis. The new accreditation, which is valid until 2027, demonstrates Globe's commitment to maintaining a strong and resilient business structure capable of withstanding rapidly recovering from disasters and unexpected business interruptions. Globe has kept this accreditation since 2012.
"This achievement is a clear indication of Globe's constant state of readiness to respond to challenges. Our efficient teams, coupled with effective processes, guarantee the delivery of essential products and services to our customers whatever the situation may be,” said Carlo Puno, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Treasurer, and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Globe. The ISO 22301 standard provides enterprises a complete framework for planning, implementing, monitoring, and constantly improving their BCMS. Globe's complete Business Continuity Management Policy aligns with this approach, outlining the company's commitment to maintaining the safety of its employees and their families, as well as protecting customer data, transactions, and infrastructure dependability. Because the Philippines is routinely ranked among the most vulnerable to natural disasters worldwide, according to the 2023 World Risk Index, Globe's preparedness approach includes a diverse range of technical solutions and procedures. Pre-disaster preparations include modifying towers to meet the Philippines' National Structural Code and reinforcing the network with redundant transit facilities and increased backup power at critical locations. The company also uses its Cell Broadcast Systems (CBS) to send geo-targeted SMS warnings and notifications to customers, in accordance with the Free Mobile Disaster Alerts Act, to keep communities informed and prepared. Globe's Rapid Deployment Solutions, which include Network-in-a-Box (2G/4G), Cell Site on Wheels (COW), Cellsite at Less Footprint (CALF), Online Management Systems, and Tower on Wheels (TOW), are linked to Globe's central office via microwave or satellite to provide network coverage and support Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging activities in disaster-affected areas. Globe's new ISO 22301 accreditation underlines its commitment to upholding the highest levels of business continuity management, ensuring that it remains a dependable and resilient partner in the face of any disruption.
