Globe Telecom Erects More than 30 New Sites in Cebu Province

Globe Telecom continues to drive Cebu’s digital transformation with the construction of over 30 new cell sites in 2024, reinforcing the province’s role as a key economic hub in Central Visayas.

​Cebu Province, with the highly urbanized cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu, had a GDP of P1.01 trillion in 2023, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority. It accounts for 29.8 percent of the region's GDP, emphasizing its relevance to Central Visayas' economic growth.

The planned placement of new Globe towers is expected to increase mobile and internet services, resulting in quicker and more reliable connections. Reliable connection closes communication gaps and increases access to critical services, including education, healthcare, and financial platforms.

As Cebu grows as a hub for business, industry, and tourism, its well-established ports, international airport, and thriving innovation ecosystem highlight the city's potential for technological advancement.

Globe's network investments build on these advantages, allowing more Cebuanos to access and engage in digital possibilities. The benefits of network expansion are being demonstrated during the Sinulog festivities, where Globe is assuring flawless communication while also assisting the tourist sector, a vital driver of the local economy.
