Filinvest REIT Corp. ESG Disclosures Independently Assured by DNV

Filinvest REIT Corp. (FILRT), the Philippines’ first sustainability-focused REIT, has taken another step in advancing credible and data-backed sustainability reporting by securing independent third-party assurance for its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures.

Det Norske Veritas (DNV), an internationally recognized global assurance and risk management company, conducted an independent assurance engagement to evaluate whether the FILRT’s ESG disclosures were prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with the applicable reporting criteria. As part of the assurance process, DNV assurance specialists conducted an onsite assessment as part of the assurance process at Axis Tower One, one of FILRT’s Grade A office building assets, where they reviewed raw datasets, operational records, and supporting documentation related to the company’s ESG performance.

The assurance engagement included assessment of disclosures prepared with reference to the GRI Standards and GHG Protocol.

In 2025, FILRT’s assets underwent a physical climate risk assessment in preparation for the transition of ESG disclosures from GRI to a new reporting framework adopted by the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission, the IFRS S1 and S2 standards. This exercise was accomplished two years ahead of the 2027 compliance year set by the SEC for Tier 2 publicly listed companies such as FILRT.

While third-party assurance of sustainability disclosures is not yet required by the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), FILRT voluntarily undertook the process as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen the reliability of its reporting practices.
