Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation Recognized as Top Taxpayer by LGUs

Three Citicore project locations were acknowledged as top taxpayers in their respective local government units (LGUs).

On December 30, 2024, the Municipality of Silay, Negros Occidental, named Citicore Negros Occidental as the LGU's number one real property taxpayer in 2023. The province overall is ranked first by the Department of Finance-Bureau of Local Government Finance (DOF-BLGF) in terms of growth in local source revenues for 2023.

This January, two more Citicore sites were cited by the local government. On January 6, Toledo City, Cebu recognized Citicore Solar Cebu as one of its top ten taxpayers for 2023, while on January 21, the Municipality of San Ildefonso, Bulacan recognized Citicore Solar Bulacan as its eighth top taxpayer for 2024.

“Economic growth is a shared responsibility between government, businesses and citizens. Paying taxes properly and on time is more than an obligation – it is one of the crucial ways we help LGUs implement programs and services in our localities,” said Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation President and CEO Oliver Tan.

Citicore's ten renewable energy facilities, totaling 285 MW in gross installed capacity, contribute to the country's expanding electricity demands. Citicore Foundation, the company's social responsibility arm, also helps host communities with initiatives that give education, employment, and environmental support.

Programs such as Training-2-Employment help locals improve their abilities, while Balik Eskwela, Brigada Basa, and Usbong Scholarship aim to bridge students' learning gaps. Meanwhile, the Environmental Program CommuniTree has planted over 13,000 seedlings around the country.
