Chinabank Again Wins Best Managed Fund Awards

Chinabank was recognized anew by the CFA Society Philippines for delivering superior returns to investors.

Two of the bank's Unit Investment Trust Funds (UITF),  Chinabank Dollar Fixed Income Fund and Chinabank Cash Fund, were named as the Best Managed Fund in their respective categories at the 2025 Best Managed Fund Awards on February 28, 2025 at Discovery Primea Makati.

Unbeatable in the Long-Term Bond category (Dollar - FVPL), this is the 9th time that Chinabank Dollar Fixed Income Fund has earned the distinction of Best Managed Fund.  Meanwhile, this is the first time for Chinabank Cash Fund to win the plum award in the Money Market Fund category (Peso - FVPL).

“These awards attest to the commitment and expertise of our fund management team in providing investment solutions to help Filipinos achieve their financial goals," Chinabank Trust & Asset Management Group Head Mary Ann Lim said.

Chinabank Dollar Fixed Income Fund is invested in a portfolio of dollar-denominated securities consisting principally of high-grade government/corporate bonds and bank deposits of varying tenors.  This UITF aims to outperform its benchmark, the Bloomberg EM USD Sovereign-Philippine Total Return Index, and is intended for investors with a moderate risk appetite and an investment horizon of at least five years.

Chinabank Cash Fund, suitable for investors with a conservative risk appetite, is invested in a diversified portfolio of deposits to provide investors with a high level of liquidity and better earnings potential than those offered by regular savings deposit accounts and money market placements. This UITF aims to surpass the Bloomberg Philippine Sovereign Bond Index Money Market.

CFA Society Philippines lauded 20 funds that demonstrated superior performance out 170 qualified funds from 16 investment houses and trust institutions. Funds were evaluated based on their Sortino ratio for actively-managed funds and Tracking Error relative to the PSEi for index funds over five-year and three-year periods. This rigorous evaluation process ensured that only the most outstanding funds were recognized across seven categories.

Chinabank offers a total of 12 UITFs catering to investors with varying risk appetites and investment horizons.
