Encarnacion The Philippine Stock Exchange and Bloomberg have collaborated to broaden the global investor community's understanding of the Philippine capital markets through a series of joint investor outreach activities inside and outside of the Philippines. As part of the new joint effort, both organizations will work together on a series of events targeted at international investors, including virtual roadshows and C-suite roundtables. In tandem, both groups will work together to explore enhanced training opportunities for Philippine-based Investor Relations professionals.
The new collaboration between Bloomberg and PSE will see both companies embark on a wide-ranging education campaign for investors and listed companies, in support of PSE’s efforts to drive greater awareness of Philippine capital markets and fostering discussion about potential market development opportunities and innovations. Ramon Monzon, President and CEO of PSE said that the initiative is an important step in the development of Philippine capital markets. “Our capital markets are home to some of Asia’s most exciting companies. We want to amplify their growth and expansion initiatives, and sustainability endeavors. We trust that upcoming discussions with market participants will spur more global interest in these listed firms and our markets,” Mr. Monzon said. Bing Li, Head of APAC at Bloomberg, said that the outreach initiatives and growing openness of the Philippine capital market are an important signal to investors looking to access the region. “As global investors seek greater exposure to Southeast Asian assets, they will inevitably be drawn to those markets that show an appetite to grow and evolve in ways comparable to other financial centers around the world. This initiative can start an important dialogue with local market participants about how they can better tell their story to global investors through transparency and data. We’re proud to work with the PSE and Philippine-based companies as they showcase their value to institutional investors everywhere,” Mr. Li said. The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) and its subsidiaries operate the equities exchange, fixed income exchange, and the central securities depository. It provides a platform for capital-raising and investing, steering company expansion and economic development, and supporting inclusive growth through wealth creation among investors. Bloomberg is a global leader in business and financial information, delivering trusted data, news, and insights that bring transparency, efficiency, and fairness to markets.
