Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO), a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), has been named the #1 Top Taxpayer of Real Property Tax in Navotas City for the eighth year in a row, as well as the #5 Top Taxpayer of Local Business Tax.
Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez presented the award to AboitizPower Transition Business Group Regional Chief Operating Officer for South Luzon and Metro Manila (SLMM) Lito Morta and AVP for SLMM Corporate Services Lou Deligencia at the 119th Navotas Day celebration.

Mayor Tiangco stated that taxes help pay for the city's social activities and services, including upgrades to the Navotas City Hospital.
“Your continued support is a blessing not only to the city but also to each and every family that benefits from the program and services we’ve worked towards realizing,” said Mayor Tiangco. “Navotas is what it is today because of you, your business, your dedication, and your trust. Together we're elevating Navotas to greater heights. Let's keep building a future we can all be proud of.”

AboitizPower’s Lito Morta expressed gratitude for the recognition, cognizant of the company’s obligations as a corporate citizen and its role in economic growth and social development.

“We are honored to be recognized as Navotas City’s top taxpayer in Real Property Tax and a key contributor in Local Business Tax,” he said. “We fulfill our duties as a responsible corporate citizen to sustain our operations and, ultimately, benefit the communities in which we operate.”

Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO) makes up four floating power barges at the Navotas Fishport Complex in Navotas City, Metro Manila. The oil-fired barges have a combined capacity of 242 MW.

AboitizPower acquired TMO in 2011 and was rehabilitated in July of the same year. The barges began commercial operations in November 2013 providing 100 MW to its sole customer Manila Electric Co. (Meralco). The following year, TMO doubled its supply and was able to generate an additional 200 MW.

TMO’s operational flexibility for fast plant start-ups presents the ideal response to the immediate or emergency needs of Luzon.
