AboitizPower, UGEP Ink Deal with Republic Cement for Long-Term Solar PPA

​Aboitiz Upgrade Solar Inc. (AUSI), a joint venture formed by AboitizPower and Upgrade Energy Philippines (UGEP), has signed a long-term solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Republic Cement & Building Materials, Inc. (RCBM). According to the PPA, AUSI will develop, build, and manage a ground-mounted solar project at RCBM's site in San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan, while RCBM will purchase the clean energy generated. 

With AUSI covering the initial capital investment and project operations, it will solely sell the produced power to RCBM's cement plant, allowing the latter to gain long-term operating savings and lower its carbon impact. The ground-mounted solar project is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2025.
